have you ever felt like eminem when you press “publish” on a social media post?

like… “you only get one shot. do not miss your chance to blow”.

I felt this last year when I was trying to learn the new linked-in algorithm.
Every time I posted felt like a make or break it moment. Did i get it right? or did I waste my day of content on something that flops?

it was so much pressure that I started drifting into avoidance mode around it. I stopped showing up consistently on linked-in because I was wrapped up in an emotional roller coaster with every post.

If i didn’t post today, I didn’t have to feel like a failure today. I could just be… an avoider.

this entire emotional arc around content creation is quite unusual for me. its not how I normally feel about content.

I’ve been creating consistently for 7.5 years now, and most of the time, I’ve genuinely loved it.

sure I’d have moments of frustration, when I wished the algorithm would just do me a solid, but overall, I’ve fallen in love with creating.

and because I enjoyed the process of creating, I showed up for it consistently.
which is how I’ve
built an online presence
created a community
and generated multiple six figures in revenue

so why did I get into such a drama loop around linked-in?
why did I create such emotional attachment and pressure around every single post?

turns out, I accidentally skipped a phase of content creation.
I went straight to phase 3, without mastering phase 2.

I tried to optimize and refine my linked-in content,
before I built a habit of showing up consistently on the platform.

and more importantly- before I CELEBRATED myself for showing up consistently.

There are distinct phases of content creation.
each phase has it’s own purpose and it’s own set of metrics.
the skills you learn in one phase must be mastered before trying to learn the skills of the next phase

and if we try to skip over a phase, or combine the phases we set ourselves up for
failure
frustration
inconsistency
just to name a few.

And that’s where the love-hate relationship comes from. That’s where the “I should be posting more” and “content creation is the bane of my existence” story lives.

The real problem isn’t that you are “bad at content” or “suck at being. consistent” or whatever it is you inner critic is trying to hit you with.

The real problem is you are trying to skip to phase 3 (most likely) before mastering phase 2.

I know you’re an accelerated student, but in this case, skipping a grade is NOT the move for sustainable success.

In this week’s Inner Circle, I take you behind the scenes of how I accidentally built my content habit in the right order — starting in 2019 in South Korea by writing a weekly blog post that almost nobody read.

I break down:

  • The 4 phases of content creation mastery — and which one you're probably skipping (that's creating all the mind drama)

  • The exact metric to track in each phase, and why tracking the wrong one is what keeps you stuck in a love/hate relationship.

  • How to build a content plan that makes you feel like you are #winning the game of social media.

If you keep feeling like social media is a job you’re constantly underperforming at… its time to join the inner circle.

(p.s. inner circle is now on it’s own private podcast feed so you can listen on your fav podcast app. which also means price is going up soon! lock in the $9/mo now )
